Payment Methods
Because every business is different, UPS offers a variety of ways to pay your UPS bill. UPS payment options can save you time and money, and provide the flexibility you need to conduct business the way you want.

Debit EFT Plans: Electronic Funds Transfer Plan

How It Works

Enjoy the convenience of paperless bill paying when you select Debit EFT, also known as Electronic Funds Transfer. Under this plan, UPS electronically requests payment for the amount of your UPS bill directly from your bank on a weekly or monthly basis. Each week or month, your bank deducts the amount from your checking account and transfers the payment electronically to UPS. Each payment is shown on your regular bank statement.

After enrolling in Debit EFT, you will continue to receive a UPS bill each week or month, which can be used for auditing or accounting purposes.
There are no UPS fees for the service, and your payments will always be on time. (Most banks do not charge transfer fees; please check with your bank for fee information.)

Benefits

  • Eliminates the inconvenience of weekly or monthly check writing, along with the cost of checks, envelopes, and postage
  • Ensures that payments are always on time, eliminating late payment fees

To enroll in the weekly or monthly Debit EFT Plan, please call 1-800-PICK-UPS® (1-800-742-5877).

* Monthly payment pursuant to this plan is only available to accounts with average charges of $200, or less, per week.

Prepayment Plans

How It Works

The UPS Prepayment Plans provide greater bill paying convenience. Under this plan, your company prepays an amount equal to four weeks' average billing. This payment remains on account to cover one month's anticipated UPS charges. The amount needed on account may change, depending on your shipping activity. Late Payment Fees apply.

Benefits

  • Makes it easier to comply with UPS payment terms, even if your business runs on a monthly accounts payable system
  • Eliminates weekly check writing and reduces processing and postage costs

For your convenience, UPS offers two Prepayment Plan options that can save you time and money.

1. Weekly Prepayment Plan

How It Works

You receive a UPS invoice each week. Payment is due for all accumulated charges within seven days of receipt of each fourth invoice. If you exceed your prepayment prior to receipt of your fourth invoice, accumulated charges are due within seven days of receipt of the most recent invoice.

  • A 5% Late Payment Fee may be assessed on an invoice that is 14 days past due. The Late Payment Fee will be applied to the portion of the invoice that is 14 days past due and is not covered by the prepayment. The prepayment amount will be applied to the oldest invoice outstanding first, and to each subsequent invoice thereafter until the prepayment amount has been fully applied.

To enroll in the Weekly Prepayment Plan, please call 1-800-PICK-UPS.

2. Monthly Prepayment Plan

How It Works

To qualify for the monthly billing option, your average weekly UPS charges must average less than $200. Preferred Customer, National, and Government accounts are not eligible for monthly billing.

You will receive a UPS invoice each month. Payment is due seven days from the receipt of the bill.

  • A 5% Late Payment Fee may be assessed on an invoice that is 14 days past due. The Late Payment Fee will be applied to the portion of the invoice that is 14 days past due and is not covered by the prepayment. The prepayment amount will be applied to the oldest invoice outstanding first and to each subsequent invoice thereafter until the prepayment amount has been fully applied.

To enroll in the Monthly Prepayment Plan, please call 1-800-PICK-UPS.

Benefits of Weekly and Monthly Prepayment Plans

  • Minimizes the time and money spent processing UPS bills by allowing customers to write only one check to cover all UPS shipping charges accumulated during the prepayment period

Other UPS Payment Plans

1. Weekly Payment Plan (No funds required in advance)

How It Works

You will receive a UPS bill each week, with payment due within seven days of receipt. You will need to write paper checks each week, pay postage, and are subject to late payment fees.

To enroll in the Weekly Payment Plan, please call 1-800-PICK-UPS.

2. Credit Extension Plan

How It Works

The Credit Extension Plan allows qualifying customers (weekly UPS shipping charges of less than $200: and customers use the plan for a variety of business or commercial purposes) to enjoy the convenience of monthly billing without using EFT or placing funds on account. To enroll in this plan, there is an annual fee based on your total annual shipping charges.

3. Special Payment Plan

Note: The Special Payment Plan can only be used with the approval of the UPS Collection Sites. Customers who do not comply with the Special Payment Plan guidelines should be converted to an appropriate payment plan.

How It Works

The Special Payment Plan allows a customer, pursuant to written agreement, to choose the prepayment period that complements their internal accounting system. Prepayment periods run from 10 to 26 weeks.

To use this plan, the customer remits funds equal to the total estimated charges for their prepayment period. Each week, UPS remits a bill marked "Paid" to the customer and charges the amount of the bill against the prepayment.

When the prepayment amount on account reaches the minimum balance specified in the written agreement, the shipper is required to make another prepayment for an additional period pursuant to the same agreement, or the shipper must make another payment arrangement with UPS.

A 5% Late Payment Fee will be applied if there has not been a positive balance in the shipper's account with UPS at any time during the 27-day period immediately preceding the transmittal of the current invoice to the shipper. The Late Payment Fee will be assessed on the total past due balance of the shipper's invoice that is 14 days past due.
