| Overview |
To help you manage your shipping expenses more efficiently and accurately, the Reference Rate Utility in WorldShip® will be eliminated and replaced by Account-specific Negotiated Rates and the Cost Center Calculator (CCC). This change will occur with the release of UPS WorldShip® 2009 Version 11.0 in January 2009.
If your business currently modifies the UPS published rates in WorldShip, we recommend that you start using the new Negotiated Rates feature, the CCC, or both as soon as possible before the Reference Rate Utility is discontinued in January 2009. Both of these features are currently available in WorldShip 2008 Version 10.0.
If you are not responsible for adjusting the rates in WorldShip, please pass this information on to the appropriate person. |

| Next Steps |
- If you have not already done so, upgrade to WorldShip 2008 Version 10.0. This is a prerequisite in order to automate your Negotiated Rates or to use the CCC.
- Do one of the following:
- If you already have incentives in your Carrier Agreement with UPS and are using the Reference Rate Utility to estimate your UPS negotiated rates, please contact your UPS Account Manager. He or she will assist you with activating your Negotiated Rates within WorldShip using the new functionality.
- If you are using the Reference Rate Utility to adjust UPS published rates, enter these adjustments into the CCC. Important: Be sure to select CCC as your rating preference in the Shipper Editor.

| How are Negotiated Rates Calculated? |
| The Negotiated Rates functionality in WorldShip will provide accurate net rates based on contract information and will automatically update your rates weekly. Unlike the Reference Rate Utility, it is not an estimate that you provide. |
 |
| What is the Cost Center Calculator (CCC)? |
The CCC is a handling charge editor that allows you to adjust your published or negotiated rates. CCC is more robust than a flat handling charge, allowing you to adjust by:
- UPS service
- Service option
- Surcharge
