UPS Returns
UPS Returns® provides an easy way to handle return shipments in the U.S. and internationally.

Overview

If you've ever had to organize customer returns, you're aware of the challenges collecting those returns can pose. UPS Return services can make a significant difference by meeting a range of reverse logistics needs and simplifying the process. With UPS Returns services, you can:

  • Arrange, create, and deliver your return shipping label to your customer and collect the item for return
  • Pre-print return labels that can be included with your original outbound goods
  • Have the return label mailed directly to your customer
  • E-mail the return label directly to your customer
  • Create and deliver a commercial invoice with the return label to your customer 
  • Process single or multiple piece return shipments
  • Associate your own reference numbers with the item being returned
  • Process returned items more quickly and efficiently and link directly with your customer service or warehouse operations


The following UPS Returns services are available to customers shipping within the U.S. and international origins through UPS WorldShip®, UPS Internet Shipping, UPS CampusShip™, a UPS Ready™ shipping system or Returns on the Web.

  • UPS Print Return Label - Print a return label for the prompt return of a package
  • UPS Electronic Return Label - E-mail a return label to your customer, which can be printed with a receipt and information on how to arrange for collection
  • UPS Print and Mail Return Label - UPS prints and mails a return label to your customer for you providing a suitable returns option for a variety of circumstances, including product recalls
  • UPS Authorized Return Service (ARS) - This is available on a contractual basis for high volume shippers and is ideal for returning products of similar size, weight, or value, such as printer cartridges; not available on any shipping client
Instructions

UPS Print Return Label


  1. The Print Return Label is generated from your UPS WorldShip, UPS Online™ compatible shipping systems, UPS Internet Shipping or UPS CampusShip system.
  2. Include the label in your outbound shipment or mail it to your customer separately.
  3. Your customer applies the label to the package to be returned.
  4. Your customer can give the package to a UPS driver or drop it off at any location of The UPS Store®, UPS Drop Box, UPS Customer Center, UPS Alliance Location (Office Depot or Staples), or UPS Authorized Shipping OutletSM. If it is more convenient, your customer can call 1-800-PICK-UPS® (1-800-742-5877) or go to UPS.com® to request a pickup.

UPS Electronic Return Label


  1. Using UPS WorldShip, UPS Online compatible shipping systems, UPS Internet Shipping or UPS CampusShip, select Electronic Return Label from the Return Services option menu.
  2. Enter the e-mail address of your customer.
  3. UPS e-mails a link to your customer.
  4. Your customer selects the link to retrieve the return label and prints it.
  5. Your customer applies the label to the package to be returned.
  6. Your customer can give the package to a UPS driver or drop it off at any location of The UPS Store, UPS Drop Box, UPS Customer Center, UPS Alliance Location (Office Depot or Staples), or UPS Authorized Shipping Outlet. If it is more convenient, your customer can call 1-800-PICK-UPS or go to UPS.com to request a pickup.

UPS Print and Mail Return Label


  1. Transmit the return request to UPS from your UPS WorldShip, UPS Online compatible shipping systems, UPS Internet Shipping or UPS CampusShip system.
  2. UPS mails the return label to your customer.
  3. Your customer applies the label to the package to be returned.
  4. Your customer can give the package to a UPS driver or drop it off at any location of The UPS Store, UPS Drop Box, UPS Customer Center, UPS Alliance Location (Office Depot or Staples), or UPS Authorized Shipping Outlet. If it is more convenient, your customer can call 1-800-PICK-UPS or go to UPS.com to request a pickup.


UPS Authorized Return Service

  1. Include the label with your outbound shipment or distribute it separately to your customer.
  2. Your customer applies the label to the package to be returned.
  3. Your customer can give the package to a UPS driver or drop it off at any location of The UPS Store, UPS Drop Box, UPS Customer Center, UPS Alliance Location (Office Depot or Staples), or UPS Authorized Shipping Outlet. If it is more convenient, your customer can call 1-800-PICK-UPS or go to UPS.com to request a pickup.

Pricing
  • Print Return Label: rate is determined by individual package weight and zone, plus accessorial charge
  • Electronic Return Label: rate is determined by individual package weight and zone, plus accessorial charge
  • Print and Mail Return Label: rate is determined by individual package weight and zone, plus accessorial charge
  • Authorized Return Service (ARS): a contractual service available for high-volume shippers
