STOCKHOLM, July 6, 2009 - UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced it
is opening a new 3,395 square meters package sorting and delivery facility in
Mölndal, Gothenburg. The new facility at Taljegardsgatan 4 is replacing a former
UPS facility located at Tagenevagen 34A in Hisings Karra.
The new building can accommodate up to 55 delivery trucks and allows UPS to
sort up to 5,000 packages per hour, over three times the sorting capacity of the
previous building. The new facility also features a modern UPS customer counter
to handle any customer shipping needs.
"With the new Molndal building, UPS can process more package volume in less
time, allowing us to better serve the growing needs of our customers in
Gothenburg and the surrounding areas" said Tim Joernsen, UPS Managing Director,
Nordics. "Our customers will also benefit from a closer customer counter, as the
vast majority are based in the area."
