Why doesn't my access key work in production?
There are a number of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) within the UPS Developer Kit that provide test access immediately upon request, however; they require certification to move to the production environment.

The requirements vary by API and are outlined within each API's developer guide, for example;

  • The Shipping API has separate approvals for ground freight and package as well as a certification process unique to the package portion of the API.
  • The Locator, Rating (ground freight), Address Validation Street Level, and Collection (ground freight and package) APIs all require production access approval.
