Do I need to file a Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) / Electronic Export Information (EEI)?
A U.S. Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) was a standard United States government form required for all U.S. exports with commodities valued at US$2,500 or higher. It has been replaced with the Electronic Export Information form (EEI).

An EEI is required when the value of a single commodity exceeds US$2,500 or for which an export license or license exemption is required.

Shipments to Canada are exempt from the EEI process unless an export license or permit is required.

Note: EEI applies only to UPS shippers in the United States and Puerto Rico.
