Printing Labels and Receipts
At the Complete Shipment stage of processing your shipment, you have the option to print your outgoing shipment labels and shipping receipt or to void the shipment.

Note: The UPS Thermal Printer is not available in all countries.


How To Change Your Printing Preferences
Your labels and receipts print to your default printer. To change your printing preferences, select the Shipping tab at the top of the page. In the area at the left, select Set Preferences. Or to switch from your default printer to your UPS Thermal Printer at the Complete Shipment stage, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Printing Preferences portion of the page.
  2. Select Use my UPS Thermal Printer to print labels. (Uncheck the box to print your labels to your default laser or inkjet printer.) Or select Use my UPS Thermal Printer to print receipts. (Uncheck the box to print your labels to your default laser or inkjet printer.)

Note: The UPS Thermal Printer is not available in all countries.

How To Print Outgoing Shipment Labels Using UPS Internet Shipping
 

  1. In the Complete a Shipment process of UPS Internet Shipping, check the appropriate labels and receipt checkboxes to view and print. In your Shipping Preferences, you can choose to have the Receipt checkbox selected automatically. You can then uncheck any box if you do not want to print that label.

  2. When printing to a laser or inkjet printer, labels display in a single, new browser window. (Note: Some older browsers do not support this functionality; each label will display in a separate browser window.) Wait for the window to load completely. Select Print from the print dialogue box. (Note: Some older browsers do not support this functionality; in this case, select Print from the File menu in your browser.) If you are printing to a UPS Thermal Printer, the label will print automatically.

Note: If you are shipping from Asia, please print two copies of the label as one copy will be retained by UPS.

How To Print Your Shipping Receipt Using UPS Internet Shipping

  1. In the Complete Shipment process of UPS Internet Shipping, select the receipt checkbox.
  2. Select View/Print.
  3. If you are printing to a UPS Thermal Printer, the receipt will print automatically. If you are printing to a laser or inkjet printer, the receipt will appear in a new browser window. Wait for the window to load completely. Then, within the new window, go to the File menu and select Print.

How To Create and Print a Return Label Using UPS Internet Shipping

Note: Return Services are not available in all countries.

At the Complete Shipment stage of UPS Internet Shipping, you can print a return label for your shipment. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. After printing your outgoing shipment labels and receipt in the Create a Shipment process, select the Create a Return link from the Shipment Confirmation page. Or, select the Create a Return link from the navigation area at the left.
  2. Fill in the information required on the Create a Return form, following the instructions on the page. Further details are available by selecting Help on the same page.
  3. Select View/Print.
  4. If you are printing to a UPS Thermal Printer, the labels will automatically print to the thermal printer. If you are printing to a laser or inkjet printer, the labels will appear in a separate browser window. Wait for the window to load completely. Then, within the new window, go to the File menu and select Print.

To create a Return Shipment on its own, select Create a Return in the area at the left. Provide the address, Return Service, UPS Service and packaging information, and then follow steps 2 through 3 above.

How To Print a Sample Label Using UPS Internet Shipping

Before printing your first label, you may check the print quality of your printer by printing a sample label using the following steps:

  1. Log in to My UPS.
  2. Select the Shipping tab at the top of the page.
  3. In the area at the left, select Set Preferences.
  4. In the Printing Preferences area of the Shipping Preferences screen, select View/Edit.
  5. Select Print a Sample Label.

When checking the print quality of your label, make sure:

  • The ink is dark and evenly printed throughout the label.
  • The addresses are legible.
  • The label has no extraneous blotches.
  • The barcode lines are distinct and evenly printed from top to bottom.
  • Your printer can print graphic images.
  • Your printer is configured with portrait page orientation.

How To Reprint Labels Using Your Shipping History In UPS Internet Shipping

If your label does not print during the Create a Shipment process, you have the option of reprinting the label from Shipping History in the area at the left within 24 hours. Typically, it takes fewer than 15 minutes for your shipped packages to appear in your Shipping History.

  • Locate the shipment in Shipping History for which you would like to reprint the label.
  • Option 1: Select the Reprint Label button located under the tracking number.
  • Option 2: Select the shipment in Shipping History for which you would like to reprint the label.
  • Select the Show Detail/Receipt button.
  • Select the Use My UPS Thermal Printer to Print Labels checkbox if you have a thermal printer installed and wish to reprint your label using your thermal printer. Leave this checkbox blank if you wish to reprint your label to a laser printer.
  • Select View/Print Label.

How To Reprint a Receipt Using UPS Internet Shipping

  • Select the Shipping History link located in the Create a Shipment area from the navigation area on the left.
  • Select the shipment for which you would like to reprint the label.
  • Select the Show Detail/Receipt button.
  • Select the Use My UPS Thermal Printer to Print Labels checkbox if you have a thermal printer installed and wish to reprint your label using your thermal printer. Leave this checkbox blank if you wish to reprint your label on a laser printer.
  • Select View/Print Label.

How To Reprint Export Documents Using UPS Internet Shipping

To reprint export documents, select the Shipping tab at the top of the page and select View History or Void Shipment to view a history of your shipments. Then select International Forms on the page interior. You can then view completed or partially completed export forms.

The export documents associated with the shipment will appear in a separate window. From the File menu of the new window, select Print to reprint the desired documents.
