UPS Korea Sponsors 10th Green Film Festival In Seoul
Press Release

UPS Supports Programs During the GFFIS to Foster Environmental Education and to Raise Sustainability

Seoul, Korea, May 9, 2013 - UPS (NYSE: UPS), a global leader in logistics, today announced that it is sponsoring the Korean Green Foundation's 10th Green Film Festival in Seoul (GFFIS). This year's theme is "Nature found in the city, sings hope". The festival will be held from May 9th to 16th, 2013 in Seoul.

Together with the Korea Green Foundation, UPS will be raising awareness on protecting the environment through programs targeted towards children, teenagers, green activists, environmental science students and the general public. The programs include: UPS Green Together, a screening of 'green' films for underprivileged people; distributing UPS Green Kits that contain educational material on sustainability; and providing support to the production team.

In addition, UPS will be participating in the GFFIS's 'One more? No! One Less Nuclear Power Plant!' campaign, which will be held from May 11th to 12th. This campaign aims to raise public awareness that saving electricity and pursuing eco-friendly efforts in everyday life can help reduce the number of nuclear power plants. UPS will be participating in the one-to-one mentoring program as part of the campaign, delivering meaningful sustainability messages to underprivileged children.

UPS has a long history of developing strategies, capabilities and partnerships that affirm the company's commitment to lead the transportation sector to greater sustainability.  From comprehensive measurement and report, to continuous technological innovation to improve products and services to customers, to engagement with other global organizations that offer world-class initiatives, expertise, forums and collaborations related to the environment, the GFFIS sponsorship is a natural fit for the company.

"Environmental sustainability has always been one of the key pillars in UPS's global strategy. We are pleased to sponsor the 10th Green Film Festival in Seoul, which is the only 'green' festival in Korea, and is also the biggest festival in Asia to promote environment protection" said JK Rha, country manager, UPS Korea. "UPS is committed to participating in activities promoting environmental sustainability. We are proud of our tradition of giving back to the local community by continuously engaging in activities that foster sustainability efforts in Korea."

Apart from the UPS programs during the GFFIS, various other activities and films are available for the public to enjoy, including the 10th Anniversary Special Program, Cinema Greenteen Program, and concerts.
