UPSers Also Donate Their Time for River Cleanup Activities

Tokyo, December 21, 2010 - The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS (Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A, NYSE: UPS) the world's largest package delivery company and a global leader in supply chain solutions, has donated US$ 28,807 to the environmental NPO (non-profit organization) Arakawa Clean Aid and US$ 10,000 to the educational NPO Peer Support-Net Shibuya.
Launched in 1994, Arakawa Clean Aid promotes environmental recovery of Arakawa River area through activities such as cleanups and water surveys. UPS employees also supported the organization as volunteers, with more than 60 employees and their families participating in river cleanups this year. The grant will be used to support Arakawa Clean Aid's activities as well as to fund a symposium where allied NPOs will share and discuss their issues and action plans.
Peer Support-Net Shibuya provides support for children with developmental and other difficulties through home counseling and social skill development programs. With the grant, the organization will purchase educational materials and office equipment which will be used for their educational support activities for children.
Masato Umeno, president of UPS Japan, said, "We are honored to support communities' environmental and educational programs with the grants and volunteer work. UPS will continue to seek means to contribute through community-based activities."
