UPS invites Group Foster Home Children to The Fuji Sprint Cup Car Race
Press Release

Tokyo, November 19, 2010 - UPS Japan invited a group of children from the Chofu Gakuen foster home to the JAF Grand Prix SUPER GT & Formula NIPPON FUJI SPRINT CUP 2010 held at the Fuji International Speedway on November 13. The children were also invited to the pit garage of, Team TAISAN, the team which UPS supports through the transportation of their racing car parts and equipment.

Established in 1925, Chofu Gakuen is a group foster home operated by the Certified Social Welfare Group, Rokutoen. Since 2005, UPS employees have been volunteering with the foster home by organizing computer classes, donating gifts and prizes for various events.

In addition to watching the race, the children were also given an opportunity to visit the Team TAISAN's pit garage, which is usually off limits to the public. They had a rare experience of interacting with the team's drivers and staff and seeing the racing cars up close.
"I was surprised by the speed of the racing cars and the noise from the engine," one of the children commented. "It was fun to get the autograph from the drivers and see the racing cars up close," said another.

"We are pleased that, with support of the Team TAISAN, we were able to provide these children a memorable experience. UPS will continue to support local communities as we grow our business in Japan," said Masato Umeno, President of UPS Japan.
