Expanded Facility Supports Growing Demand in South India
INDIA, June 1, 2007 - To meet growing demand for its services in South India, UPS has opened a new operations centre in Tirupur, India's largest garment manufacturing city. Located in central Tirupur, the 2,300-square-feet facility has an expanded package sorting capacity and provides convenient access for factories to export their products globally.
"UPS is always looking at ways to improve its service to customers. The new operations centre is part of our long-term strategy to meet the increasing demand of businesses in Tirupur," said Pirojshaw Sarkari, managing director of UPS Jetair Express Pvt. Ltd. "UPS also will enhance its service levels by introducing advanced technology and increasing its vehicle fleet and service providers.
"The expansion of our facilities signifies our confidence and commitment in India," continued Sarkari. "Since our establishment in India in 1988, UPS has been facilitating international commerce for businesses in India. Through our expanded capabilities and introduction of new technology, we are well positioned to help our customers improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their supply chains."
