Checking Shipment Status
In addition to delivering your shipments, UPS delivers information about the shipments you send. Whether you use shipment tracking information to improve your bottom line, or simply for your own peace of mind, UPS provides the following methods to help you check your shipment's status.

Using Tracking Numbers
UPS uses tracking numbers to identify and trace every shipment as it moves through the UPS system to its destination. A tracking number is automatically assigned to your shipment, whether you use an online shipping system or a paper-based method (UPS Waybill, etc.). You or your customer can use this number to track, locate, and verify the arrival of your shipment, and keep track of other pertinent shipment details. If you have a tracking number, you can use it to submit a tracking request on your country´s homepage.

Tracking by Reference
Whenever you create a shipment, you can assign it a shipment reference that easily coordinates with your billing or filing systems or those of your customers. This reference can contain any combination of letters and numbers and can be a Purchase Order (PO) number, a customer´s job number, a Bill of Lading number, or even a group of words that identifies the shipment, such as "gift for Mom." Use this reference to track your shipment by going to the main Tracking page and selecting the Track by Reference link to the left of the page. Input your reference in the Shipment Reference field, indicate whether your shipment is package or freight, and select your shipping dates. Then select the Track button.

Track by E-mail
You can track up to 25 UPS shipments at once by sending your tracking numbers in an e-mail message to the UPS e-mail tracking address. To find this e-mail address, select Tracking at the top of your country's home page, then select Track by E-mail. You can also access this information by selecting the link below.
