Please be aware of new international standards for air shipment of lithium batteries.
Riding on the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) effective January 1, 2009, please be aware of new international standards for air shipment of lithium batteries. Please visit: http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/cargo/dangerous_goods/Pages/lithium_batteries.aspx.
Besides, please also take note the most updated HKCAD requires that lithium cells/batteries must be consigned either as:

Any person preparing or offering excepted lithium cells/batteries for air transport must have received adequate instruction on the ICAO requirements for shipping lithium batteries.
Detailed requirements can be found in the CAD website at http://www.cad.gov.hk/english/dangerousgoods.html.
For more information, concerning the requirements, please contact the Dangerous Goods Office of Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department at 2182 1214 or 2182 1221.
