Hong Kong, June 29, 2008 - With the 2008 Beijing Olympics just around the corner, UPS delivers the excitement and spirit of sports to Hong Kong by co-sponsoring 2008 FIVB World Grand Prix, one of the biggest international volleyball tournaments, at Hong Kong Coliseum today.
"We are delighted to bring this exciting event to Hong Kong and we hope that all Hong Kong volleyball fans will get the opportunity to watch their favorite teams in action. The sponsorship is an important component of UPS's sports marketing strategy in the build up to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, of which UPS is the sponsor of the logistics and express delivery category," said Mr. Brian Cusson, Senior Vice President, North Asia, UPS Asia Pacific Region during the customer cocktail.
UPS is also the official sponsor of China Women's National Volleyball Team, one of the competing teams led by Coach Chen Zhonghe, and core star players including Zhao Ruirui and Feng Kun.
"Our partnership with the Chinese women's volleyball team marks a milestone in our sponsorship strategy to support our Olympic initiatives. We are extremely proud to be associated with the China Women's National Volleyball Team, the 2004 Olympic champions, and we look forward to partnering with them on the journey to defending their title in summer this year," Mr. Cusson concluded.
