New Security Measure for Non-UPS Billing Account Customers
Service Update
The safety and security of our customers, business partners and employees are our utmost concern. Effective immediately, UPS requires all packages presented at UPS customer counters by non-UPS-billing-account customers to be opened and inspected in the presence of the customer presenting the package. This person must show two valid, officially recognised photo IDs and proof of the shipper's address.
The following photo IDs are accepted:
A valid EU passport
A national ID card issued by an EU nation
An EU photographic driving license
A driver card issued by the UK DVLA
A Security Industry Authority License
A foreign passport with holder's details in English
The following documents are accepted as proof of the shipper's address:
Company stationery with address contained thereon
Utilities bill (Gas, Electric, Council Tax, Water, Telephone, Mobile Phone)
Bank statements
Counterpart of UK driving licence
UPS security measures also include:
Customers who originate shipments from retail locations to present a valid government-issued photo ID and to present packages open when shipping. Customer information will be recorded on a control log, which will be destroyed in accordance with the appropriate legal and regulatory requirements.
