Signs Multi-year Agreement to Extend Sponsorship of the CBA League and China's Men's National Basketball Team
BEIJING, November 26, 2009 - Continuing its support of athletic excellence in China sports, logistics and shipping giant UPS today renewed its sponsorship of the China Basketball Association (CBA) League and China's Senior Men's National Basketball Team.
In the new multi-year agreement, the UPS logo badge will appear on the official game jersey of all CBA League clubs, and on the game shorts of the Men's National Team. UPS will also support China basketball by organising in-stadium fan activities that promote increased basketball playing opportunities for Chinese youth.
"UPS has been a partner to China basketball since 2007 and our employees are extremely proud and excited to be associated with the sport," said Chris Grubb, Vice President of Marketing, UPS Asia Pacific Region. "Basketball is China's fastest growing sport, especially among youths, and UPS is extremely pleased to have the opportunity to support and promote this exciting sport."
Under the new agreement, UPS will continue its role as Official Partner of the CBA League and National Team as well as the Official Supplier of Logistics and Express Delivery Services to meet the urgent shipping needs of the team's documents. UPS will also produce in-stadium activities at both CBA League and National Team games to create more excitement and fun for fans. UPS will also sponsor the "UPS Best Point Guard of the CBA League" with a website that will allow fans to vote online for their choice of the best point guard in the CBA League.

As part of its support for China basketball, UPS will organise road shows to promote the game and expand the Chinese basketball community. This includes inviting CBA players and coaches to participate in fan activities.
In addition, at the annual CBA All-Star Game, a select group of CBA players will compete in the "All-Star Game Skills Competition by UPS", testing their skills in a series of on-court activities.

UPS's support for China sports also include partnering the National Women's Volleyball Team, female tennis star Peng Shuai, and a group of China sports legends including long-distance runner Ms. Wang Jun Xia, table tennis great Ms. Zhao Zhi Min, and gymnastics duo Mr. Li Xiao Shuang and Mr. Li Da Shuang.
