Beijing, Feb. 6, 2006 ---- UPS, the Official Logistics and Express Delivery Sponsor of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, successfully arranged the delivery of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Mascots to Torino, Italy, on behalf of BOGOG. The mascots will be used by the BOCOG delegation to the Torino Winter Games to promote the Beijing Games.

Ken Torok, President of UPS Asia Pacific said, "Mascots are important symbols of the Olympic spirit and ideals and key icons of the Games.  UPS is honoured to be entrusted with the delivery of the Beijing Olympic Mascots to Torino as part of its obligation to BOCOG as Beijing 2008 Sponsor.  We also send our best wishes to all the athletes and people celebrating the 2006 Torino Winter Games.  We wish all athletes, especially the Chinese delegation, the best of luck.

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Mascots include 5 individual Mascots, named FUWA. Each Mascot has its own name, BEIBEI, JINGJING, HUANHUAN, YINGYING, NINI. Together, however, the five names mean Beijing huan ying ni (Beijing Welcomes You).

UPS is committed to helping BOCOG launch a successful Olympic Games by leveraging on our strong and unique experience, capacity in global transportation and delivery, and strong presence in China.

The Torino Winter Games will be held from the 10th to 26th February, 2006. 2,500 athletes will compete in 15 different events. The delegation of Chinese athletes consists of 151 athletes who will compete in 47 different competitions.
In July, UPS was appointed the Official Logistics and Express Delivery Sponsor of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. As a sponsor, UPS will provide logistics consultation to BOCOG and assist BOCOG to develop and execute the logistics operating plan for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. UPS will also provide express delivery services to all venues nominated by BOCOG for the duration of the Games.
The sponsorship agreement signed between UPS and BOCOG is effective for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and the Chinese Olympic teams to compete in the 2006 Olympic Winter Games and the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
