UPS Offers Holiday Shipping Tips For Peace of Mind
Press Release

The world's largest package delivery company is ready to tackle the rush

Mississauga, ON, December 17, 2008 - With more than a century's worth of experience in managing the holiday rush, UPS has plenty of expert tips to share with shippers across Canada as they get ready to ship their packages in time for Christmas.

UPS's expansive network is designed to handle the needs of all shippers, including the ones that wait until the last minute. UPS recommends the following tips to ensure peace of mind when shipping this holiday season:

1. Keep a calendar of shipping deadlines: It's a busy time of year and it's easy to lose track of the days during all of the excitement. Remember to ship holiday packages as early as possible. Customers can ship within Canada and to the United States using UPS's Express air services as late as Tuesday, December 23.  For those sending gifts overseas, packages can be shipped using UPS's Express air services as late as December 19, depending on the destination country.

2. Take it to the experts at The UPS Store®: With more than 300 locations across Canada, The UPS Store offers access to specially trained and certified packaging experts who make holiday shipping easy. To find store locations, information on products and services, hours of operation, directions and maps, visit www.TheUPSStore.ca.

3. Track your shipment: UPS provides tracking technology on UPS.com to make it easy for customers to monitor the movement of their gifts in real time. Shippers should check UPS.com to verify time-in-transit for their particular shipping destination.

4. Process shipments online: UPS offers a fast and easy Internet shipping option at UPS.com. Customers can select their preferred time of delivery, pay by credit card, print shipping labels and track packages. Once the label is placed on the package, a customer can hand the package to a UPS driver, arrange for a special pickup or drop it off at any of the 1,102 UPS Canada shipping locations (drop off boxes, shipping centres, retail stores and authorized shipping outlets).

For more than a century, UPS has been delivering holiday cheer from around the corner to more than 200 countries and territories around the world. To find the nearest UPS location or additional holiday packing and shipping information, visit www.UPS.com or call 1-800-PICK-UPS.
