Shipping Deadlines for Holiday Gifts are Around the Corner!
- UPS expects to deliver 230 packages every second on December 21! -
TORONTO, December 13, 2004 - If finding the perfect gift took longer than expected or if you had an 11th hour shopping frenzy, you can still get your gifts delivered across town or across the country.
UPS Canada is reminding customers that deadlines for shipping gifts to loved ones within Canada, the U.S. or overseas are quickly approaching. With an estimated 20 million holiday packages to be delivered worldwide on its peak day alone (December 21), UPS expects to be as busy as St. Nick this holiday season.
UPS recommends shipping packages as early as possible this holiday; however, UPS will maintain services through to December 24, with its air hubs in Hamilton, Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Mirabel working at optimum levels to ensure timely global delivery of packages.
Use the following guidelines to help ship parcels to major Canadian and U.S. metropolitan areas in time for Christmas delivery:
- UPS Standard Service - ship by Wednesday, December 15 (check UPS.com to verify time-in-transit for shipping destinations)
- UPS 3 Day Select Service - ship by Monday, December 20
- UPS Expedited Service - ship by Tuesday, December 21
- UPS Express Services - ship by Thursday, December 23
For international deadlines (using Express Services), refer to the following cut-off dates, or go to www.UPS.com and click on Calculate Time and Cost:
Ship by Monday, December 20 for the following regions:
- Middle East
- Eastern Europe
- South and Central America
- Australia
- Africa
Ship by Tuesday, December 21 for the following regions:
- Western Europe and United Kingdom
- Caribbean and Mexico (for most points)
- Pacific Rim (for most points)
