UPS CANADA HELPS BUSINESSES MAKE QUANTUM LEAP IN CUSTOMER SERVICE
Mississauga, Ontario, July 12, 2004 - UPS Canada today announced the launch of its latest Web-based tracking and notification tool - UPS Quantum ViewTM Data. By offering customers increased visibility, UPS Quantum View Data allows UPS shippers to more easily monitor package movements within their supply chains and use that information to improve service to their customers.
While a customer may be quick to call a supplier to find out the status of an order, the supplier may not have a quick or ready answer - the lack of visibility in the inventory process can disrupt an otherwise flawless customer experience.
Equipped with a portfolio of global visibility services, UPS Quantum View Data provides shipment manifest information, status updates and email notification alerts for inbound and outbound packages.
UPS Quantum View Data's easy-to-use, automated solutions make the supply chain visible; this information can then be used to better manage inventory and accelerate cash flow.
- UPS Quantum View Data - Inbound: provides access to the latest detailed shipment information for inbound packages, including scheduled day of delivery as well as any exception updates that could potentially change the delivery date.
- UPS Quantum View Data - Outbound: provides access to the latest delivery details for outbound packages, including the shipping date, exceptions and delivery details.
- UPS Quantum View Notify: provides automatic e-mail notification when a package is shipped, when it arrives, or if it's delayed.
"UPS Quantum View Data empowers Canadian businesses to manage their supply chain more effectively. It allows companies to improve efficiency, better manage costs and inventory and enhance customer relationships," says Wayne Bosch, UPS Canada Director of E-Commerce.
Shippers may use this information to speed up cash flow, improve inventory costs, and allocate staff based on incoming shipment volume. Users also can notify sales people and service technicians that critical shipments have arrived or are delayed (by weather or customs). This reduces time spent tracking individual packages and securing shipping information across multiple systems or locations.
QUANTUM VIEW Data
Attogram Corporation, a Canadian manufacturer of wellness products, made a "quantum leap" in improving delivery service and management for its U.S. based customers.
"Customers would call us asking where their order was," says Andrew Gutauskas, CEO of Attogram. "But we couldn't give them a quick answer because we were using multiple couriers and too many tracking systems were involved."
Frustrated by spending endless hours fielding customer calls and checking shipment status, Attogram now uses UPS exclusively. The company also relies on UPS Quantum View Data to provide hourly email updates on the status of multiple shipments. "Our customers love it!" says Gutauskas, "Now, we rarely get any calls asking for the status of an order."
UPS Canada provides Quantum View Data to customers as a value-added service.
