With immediate effect, South Korea Customs will tighten the screening of shipment/consignee information on low value non-document import shipments below US$100 in value, as well as under-declared shipments.
Non-compliant shipment documentation may result in customs clearance delays. In addition, with effect from 1 July 2009, the authorities will implement a penalty fee of up to US$ 200 per infringement.
Examples of unaccepted entries:

Inaccurate or incomplete consignee name and address.
The consignee address must consist of the building name, street address and area information as seen in this sample address:

Only full names of consignees are permitted, initials are not allowed. Unacceptable: J.J. Yu Acceptable: Jung Ja Yu

Underdeclared or miskeyed shipment value. Unacceptable: Actual invoice value is USD1,000.00 but submitted as USD100.00

Wrong or missing consignee, or invalid phone/mobile numbers. Unacceptable: 000000, 111111, 999999, 123456, N/A
